Dr Iyer graduated from St.Petersburg State Medical University with High distinction. He was Honored the Presidential Red Degree for being the university gold medallist with academic excellence. He subsequently finished his post graduate accreditation exams in London, UK. Dr Iyer underwent his Physician’s training at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney and completed his Cardiology training & fellowship in Royal Canberra & Launceston General hospitals.

He has worked in the local area network for several years and achieved accolades from Northern Sydney Area Health service which includes the “Employee of the Month award” and “Ryde council’s Carer award”.

Dr Iyer has special interest in Cardio-oncology, Heart failure, Cardiovascular disease in women, structural and valvular heart disease with a strong focus on non-invasive cardiology such as Stress ECHO, Trans-oesophageal ECHO, Advanced LV/LA strain imaging and 3D TTE. He has completed the Level 3 CTCA certification (Tutor & Report) and works as a Honorary faculty at the UCLA, Los Angeles, USA. He is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Macquarie University, in Sydney. Arvind Iyer leads the ECHO division of the Cardiology department at Macquarie Hospital and works as a VMO Cardiology/General Medicine at Northern Beaches Hospital.

Dr Iyer is fluent in several international and Indian languages (Russian, Ukrainian, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam). His multilingual skills make him more popular amongst his patient cohort.
